I wonder if we will be able to let go of “the magic rope” of safe thinking, to look beyond the scout or unit view, to overcome inertia, and to reach the new vistas that will let us see the true panorama of Scouting – helping our larger community at all times. It is a daunting challenge and not without obstacles. I believe it is a process, involving a consistent effort of communicating with adults, informing and educating them via both outreach and in reach, finally leading to a new way of thinking about Scouting and a new sensitivity to the community groups we do (and could) serve.
