In 1927, Helen Keller had a dream and challenged the Lions to become the "Knights of the Blind" on a crusade against darkness. The Lions accepted the challenge and have dedicated themselves to fighting preventable and reversible blindness around the world.

Mariah Ramirez, 14, of Fontana, took part this year. She also participated in 2006. She said rock climbing calms her and that she loves the challenge of reaching the top. She hopes to return to camp as a rock climbing counselor and, maybe, work as a professional rock climbing guide.
